This mayo was incredible. I didn't bbq the shrimp but instead poached it. My poached shrimp recipe is #378208. I served it at a party and everyone loved it. *Reviewed during ZWT5 Australian visit* Thanks Sarah_Jayne this is a great recipe! WEll Hoges did make throwing a "shrimp on the barbie" popular for sure. Funny thing is that in Australia we refer to all sized shrimp as 'prawns'. WE often do have prawns on the barbie...perhaps not as much as Paul Hogan would have you believe. I could only buy smallish green prawns today...so used three of them per skewer. THey cooked up super quick on the BBQ- about 1 to 2 minutes per side. The mango Lime Mayonnaise was absolutely to die for! Truely had the flavours of Summer. It's almost our winter here now and mangoes are out of season. I used frozen mango as a substitute....actually turned out quite good as it was easy to grate. This recipe is definitely going to be used again in our home. I added in some Native Lemon Myrtle seasoing as this goes perfectly with seafood. Photo also to be posted. THanks fellow CHow Hound for one terrific dinner!!!people found this review Helpful. This was so incredibly yummy. I mean the sauce, of course, because the shrimp were good (they are shrimp, after all!), but they were just shrimp. The mayo sauce, though . . . O.O totally groovy! I never thought of limes and mangoes as combining well, but they really really do! DD also had it on her fish (the kids don't do shrimp - more for us!), and it was good on the potatoes, and it probably would have even been good on the fruit salad!
