Morrie's Sausage Casserole

When growing up, Morrie was our next door neighbour. I remember my Brother loving this recipe, in fact it was about all he would eat as a kid!! Please allow time to boil the sausages and stew the apple!

• Cook Time: 2 hrs

Ingredients:

Servings: 4

• 6 -8 sausages, boiled, skinned and cut into pieces
• 1 carrot, grated
• 1 onion, sliced
• 1 -2 apple, stewed
• 2 cups water, boiling
• 2 tablespoons flour
• 2 tablespoons sugar
• 2 tablespoons vinegar
• 2 tablespoons ketchup
• 1 tablespoon butter
• 1 teaspoon curry powder
• salt and pepper

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 120°C.
2. Make a sauce with the boiling water, flour, sugar, vinegar, ketchup, butter, curry powder, salt and pepper.
3. In an oven dish place sausages, carrot, onion and apples.
4. Add sauce mixing well.
5. Cover and cook for 1 1/2 - 2 hours.

I made this for my family after many sausage casseroles that were 'unsuccessful' now my mum and dad request it. As a matter of fact, it's on the menu this evening! :)

A great family meal, everyone liked the flavour,7yo has requested it again. I stewed the apple in the microwave otherwise cooked as per instructions, served with creamy mashed potatoes and brocoli.Thanks for posting
