Lovely and easy way to prepare onions, and fabulous flavour, we loved these!
The honey gives a touch of sweetness which is very pleasant combined with the thyme, if I had these in a restaurant I'd be asking for the recipe!
Thanks, Jewelies, marvellous recipe and a keeper for me!

OH, what a great way to fix onions.
Piled them on a burger and had a heaping side. Will fix them again and again. Thanks Jewelies

Lovely recipe. I served this over some lightly herbed chicken breasts and buttered rice. I will experiment with this and try it with other combos of food. Thanks for posting!

LOVED IT!! Anything with onions is a winner with me. I made this as a side dish for dinner last night as a topper for our meat dish. Thanks for another Zaar winner.

This was a wonderful side dish! I adore onions and was a bit dubious about putting in the honey as I'm not a fan of sweet meals but there was just a lovely hint, it wasn't overpowering at all! I cooked them til they started going brown on the bottom and we devoured this! Thanks for posting!

Jewelies, great recipe. I used sweet onions and apple juice instead of the wine. After it had cooked the 20 minutes I turned up the heat and allowed the pan to cook dry. They were very tasty.

This is a very easy side to prepare. I used only 1/2 cup of wine which gave this dish a wonderful fragrance. I seasoned the onions with Roasting Salt Blend for Veggies or Meats by HeatherFeather #93833. The onions I sliced thick and were very tender sweet. This would be a great base to steam a fillet a fish on. — posted Jul 18, 2004

I tried this when up in Conn. visiting with my twin sister. We both really enjoyed the flavors! I thought the wine, honey, and thyme, fresh from the garden were a wonderful mix! Thanks, Jewelies, and so sorry this is late! I'm glad I tagged this in ingredient tag!

This is a nicely uncomplicated yet flavorful sidedish. The wine and honey give it a slightly sweet/sour taste but ultimately the sweetness of the onions shine through. I served this with a simply grilled salmon fillet and couscous--the combination was just right for us. Thanks for posting !
